Grand Canyon part 1

Yesterday it finally stopped raining and we went on the walk at the back of the hotel. It took about an hour and we saw chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits and a humming bird. This is a picture we took whilst walking.

We got the coach to take us to Black Barts, which is just across the road, as there was a danger of further rain.
Black Barts is a steak restaurant where the waiters get up on stage and sing songs from the musicals when they are not serving.

Alison had a New York steak with fried sweet potatoes.

and I had the same steak but with beans - cowboy style.

It was a brilliant evening and the coach sang all the way home.

Today we drove along a famous road

to Williams where we are catching the train to the Grand Canyon.
Before boarding we had to watch a cowboy show.

On board we were treated to this.

Luckily he wasn't playing for the whole journey.

After a two and a half hour journey we finally got off at the Grand Canyon.

The ten fliers were bussed to the airport and finally led out to our plane.

It was crowded inside.

But with a sense of great anticipation we took off.
