I have a dream.

Today was always going to be a long day and so it has proved. There's still 6 hours to go too. 

Up at 5:30 our cases were collected at 6:15 leaving us an hour for breakfast before departure for the station.

We had already recce'd a bagel place and there we went. 

I had an egg bacon and cheese one and Alison had a salmon and cream cheese one. Two large lattes finished it. A genuine New Yorker place rather than for tourists, it was delicious. 

Then at 7:15 it was off to Penn Station and onward with our journey. 

We arrived in Washington about 10 minutes late. 

And we were greeted by an amazing looking station and outside it, my dream bus. 

Next it was a very long coach trip round some sights before checking in at the hotel. We have a group meeting in 30 minutes, which will be 12 hours since our last meal and we are hungry.

Another very busy day. 

Hopefully we will have a lie in and then some culture tomorrow by visiting some museums.
